Sales Down?? Think of the number 1311...

Here is a REAL story that we will all face as home based entrepreneurs:  eventually you will enter a phase where you begin to question your ability to sell anything .... you can bank on that story being part of everyone's career and for those that are reading this column and find themselves in that situation let me remind you of a number and two names that everyone is familiar with:

THE NUMBER IS 1311

THE NAMES ARE COLONEL SANDERS & WALT DISNEY

And as Paul Harvey would say "now for the rest of the story" which involves:

Colonel Sanders was broke and alone at age 65 living off a Social Security Check of $105 monthly with ownership of a Chicken Recipe he wanted to sell to Restaurants with a hopeful working relationship of percentage sales for his original idea ... an idea was presented over 1009 times before he heard his first YES and the rest as we know is history.

Walt Disney has a Vision of Creating the "Happiest Place on Earth" which we all know today as Disney World ... and on behalf of millions of families a Sincere Round of Thanks goes out to this Innovative Thinker who heard the word NO a total of 302 times before he finally found a bank that had the courage to finance a Concept that has become famous for the words "I am going to Disneyworld" as uttered every year by the MVP Trophy Winner in the Super Bowl.

Remember these two stories as it will make everyone realize that Dreams are Created by a Persistent Belief in One's Inner Self and without that trait Kentucky Fried Chicken and the Disney Family Entertainment Parks would have never become a part of the American Landscape.

TO YOUR SUCCESS!!

Can you Spare One Hour a Day to Increase your 2012 Revenue???

Sometimes in life it is the simple things we overlook that causes one to look back wondering why they didn't take the steps when presented at the time to address a certain issue that was important in their lives .... as in Dedicating the Time Needed to Promote our Home Based Businesses?

You say that you can't dedicate 60 minutes per day to this critical area of your operation?  Think about the time folks spend watching TV Shows like American Idol or the Simpsons and one will quickly grasp that those making that claim need to focus on updating the resume as obviously being a Business Owner focused on intent is not their calling in life.

What should one do in that short time frame to increase the odds for success?

ADD KEYWORDS TO YOUR WEBSITE

OPTIMIZE YOUR SEARCH LISTINGS

UPDATE YOUR ONLINE BUSINESS LISTINGS

SEND OUT A DAILY EMAIL BLAST TO THOSE CONSIDERED "HOT" FROM THE PROSPECT FILES

UPDATE ADVERTISEMENTS BASED ON TRACKING MECH FEEDBACKS

Bottom Line: You should have a list drawn up nightly of areas you feel are critical and need to be addressed the next day ... it may be Small or Large but regardless of the "Size Value" taking the necessary steps can spell the difference in your overall Sales Revenue.

Do You Have the Mindset of a Champion???

As an avid golfer I can relay to all involved with our fantastic home based program an old saying in that sport which sounds "weird" on the surface but defines very well what makes great Championship Golfers and the words of wisdom are the following:

GOLF IS A SIX INCH GAME .... BETWEEN THE EARS !!
What does that have to do with my Individual Business Operation will ask the majority .... and the simple answer is CHAMPIONS FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE AND NEVER THE NEGATIVE and for those think I am full of "you know what" reflect back the past two years with the struggles of the Legendary Tiger Woods who on interviews constantly reminded reporters "I am that close to playing great" or "I am rolling the putts super but they just ain't falling."

The best in Golf use visualization and when faced with a tight tee shot with out-of-bounds to the Right and a Lake on the Left will turn their attention to a tree aligned with a spot in the part of the fairway where they are focused on having the ball end up where Amateurs will see the negative layouts presented Left and Right as they stand over their shot.

The point of this column is Selling is a Mental Game and one needs to stay focused on maintaining positive thoughts as that positive pattern will reflect on your phone calls as humans migrate toward positive people and that certainly does apply to the list of prospects on your desk.

YOU ARE ALL CHAMPIONS ... SOME OF YOU JUST HAVEN'T REALIZED THAT YET !!

Your "Go To Strength" for marketing sales....

As most of you either know or will discover I am a diehard sports fan and you will notice a few of my columns take my passion - OBVIOUSLY OUTSIDE OF OUR WONDERFUL HOME BASED PROGRAM - and try to create a story angle that will benefit my talented and growing group of entrepreneurs.

There is in sports a term called a "Go To" which refers to what an athlete will turn to under pressure ... it could be a golfer hitting a fade shot on the 72nd hole of the U.S. Open or a Pitcher throwing a split finger fastball with a 3-2 count and the game on the line.  It is basically their strength and has become a strength through success under fire which leads to the following question for IBO's in our program:

WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR ARSENAL TO BRING PROSPECTS "ON THE FENCE" INTO THE "SIGN ME UP" CATEGORY?
Maybe your answer is "I am not sure Joe" and if so that is OK as it simply means you haven't analyzed due to the subject probably not mentioned by others in your sphere of influence.

A few of those "GO To" statements you will hear from the Top Level folks includes:

"Outside of the investment can you think of another reason not to join?"

"Is there anyone else you want involved in this discussion?"

"What do you need from me to cement a long term business relationship?"

What you need to simply do is to experiment with different closings ... monitor the results and find the one that works and makes you most comfortable in helping to create your very own Fall Away Jump Shot that will hit nothing but net when closing a transaction with an interested prospect.

Learn how to compete to succeed Online....

Hello to all of you talented IBO's with 2YOURSUCCESS24 and for those of you wondering my goal when creating an email column it is create a "Theme Song" of a subject that fits in line with the career path chosen as IBO's working from our home based offices.

Today will focus on the simple word known as COMPETING and a story of my 10 year old son Ben whose passion in life is the game of golf and that passion was on display recently in a tournament in Virginia competing against kids that were 12 & 13 years of age.

I wish I could report that Ben captured top honors but he fell short with a 5th place finish which brought pride into his Old Man's life and that pride was based around a simple fact: he was out competing with kids older and stronger than himself and displayed the courage to fight to the final putt which defines the internal makeup this sport has seen from all of the Greats from Ben Hogan to Tiger Woods.

Will he become a Great Golfer? Only time will tell and in the same sentence I could ask all of my Fellow IBO's the same question in regards to their career with our wonderful program ... and like with my son I will tell everyone that Competing takes guts and for everyone that made the gutsy call to become an IBO and compete every day on improving their lives I salute you as much as I did Ben recently when that young man made me beam with pride with the effort he showed that defined a Champion in my book.

When things seem tough- Remember Greg Garmon!

I am proud to be active with our wonderful program that was created to effect changes on a major positive scale for all that are involved .... and making changes from the standpoint of an IBO working from a home based office takes courage and focus and the resolve to overcome challenges that we all face on a regular basis.

Which leads to this column and the story of a young man who overcame a 'heckva lot more than 30 "NOs" in a row from prospects as Greg Garmon faced the most severe challenge life can present and came out a winner and hopefully when you read his story it will inspire everything to follow in his footsteps next time you feel are in one of those "I suck" moments we ALL experience sooner or later.

http://www.maxpreps.com/news/yobDQ21QWUS2gZpzGg6efA/cancer-survivor-greg-garmon-signs-with-iowa-on-2012-national-signing-day.htm

Cancer survivor Greg Garmon signs with Iowa on 2012 National Signing Day

"It's a simple, yet not always executed drill when running with a football.  Run full speed ahead. Churn north and south. Avoid east and west. Don't look back.

It's a pretty solid philosophy in life as well, one Greg Garmon knows all too well.

He's raced past a couple of near tragic disasters – his family's home burned down when he was in the sixth grade before overcoming a rare form of cancer as a young teen – and shows no ill effects or fear.

The loss of his house took some time. He spent a year with a pal's family while his own got life in order. Football and athletics and an engaging personality helped him gain back his footing and strength.

But the pains in his joints and hips began to take over. The medical profession chalked it up to growing pains, Garmon said, until the call came when he was in the eighth grade. It was a very rare form of non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, about 10 in a million get it before the age of 15. He was only 13.

"It just didn't really make sense or hit me at first," Garmon said. "Old people get cancer. Unhealthy people. I was so young and I thought healthy."

The good news, doctors told him, was it wasn't life-threatening. But his passions - football and people - would take a back seat to weekly chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Regular spinal taps followed.

All was very serious and draining stuff.  Worse than that, he couldn't be around people or school or sports. His immune system wouldn't allow it.

But, perhaps because of his age and health and outlook, Garmon regained his footing. Within six months, doctors told him, he was cancer-free. He was back on the field. His vision was clear. Every hole, every opening, appeared to be a keen opportunity.

"My family got me through," he said. "I owe them everything. I've reached the next level to serve them."

Blessed with superb speed – a best of 4.36 in the 40-yard dash, 21.7 in the 200 and 49 in the 400 – and excellent vision, balance and hands Garmon is the complete package on the football field. So says CBS/MaxPreps recruiting expert Tom Lemming who ranks him the sixth best tailback in the country. "He's a do-everything kind of back," he said. "He's a strong runner who keeps his pads low fights for yards after contact and keeps his legs moving."

Tough Times? *You are in Total Control*

Every Tuesday you can receive via Email a Sales Tip of the Week via Email from one of the Top Phone Sales in the country at a no cost, no obligation setup on the website of www.businessbyphone.com .... excellent information from a gentlemen named Art Sobczak who ranks among the best in the country with his innovative ideas on how to be at the top of your game when using the telephone to increase your individual sales revenue.

The following I received on Monday and would like to pass along to everyone I interface with our wonderful program (I receive nothing financially for forwarding this information) as it merits consideration:

Greetings:
A couple of weeks ago we hosted the very popular webinar, "Tough Times Never Last, But Tough Salespeople Do." Attendees gave it rave reviews. A number of people had read their emails about the program after it was held, and wanted to know if we would hold it again. We'll do better than that. You can get immediate access to the recording of the program, the transcript, and the ebook bonus. Here is complete info:
Tough Times Never Last But Tough Salespeople Do
An inspirational, life-changing webinar presented by
Dr. Alan Zimmerman
A Personal Message from Art Sobczak:
I am a very positive, optimistic person. I am also a realist. There's no doubt that even some of the most good-intentioned people are still experiencing tough times right now. With financial instability locally, nationally and internationally... companies crumbling ... sales results stagnant... jobs in jeopardy ... and with relationships falling apart it's downright scary.
Not for everyone of course, but if you, your team, or someone you know is going through some tough times right now, read on.
But Won't Hard Work Fix Everything? Many of us were taught if we would only work hard and put our time in at work every day, making our sales calls... we would be immune from the tough times. We would be rewarded with eternal success and unlimited confidence ... well we now know that is a bunch of baloney.

So yes, for many people, times are tough. And there may not be much you can do about the government laws or corporate policies that caused some of this mess. But you ALWAYS have control over your response to these times or any other times.
That's why I invited my good friend and peak performance expert, Dr. Alan Zimmerman to deliver his excellent webinar to my audience. It's "Tough Times Never Last but Tough Salespeople Do."
Alan is one of the top motivational speakers in the business for a reason: his readers, listeners, and workshop attendees get results:
"Your training fulfilled the exact need that we were looking for. You gave our employees a greater awareness of the control they have over their lives. Your course enlightened our employees that they don't need to go through life simply accepting the things that happen; rather, they truly can be in charge of their lives. You opened up their potential for creating more successes."
Greg Matuszak, Manager, AAA Michigan/Wisconsin
"Thank you for one of the finest, most worthwhile presentations I have heard in years"
Mark Ristau, Director, Northern States Power Company
He has given more than 3000 presentations in the last 25 years and has published several books and more than 500 articles. Alan is only one of six people in the entire world who has a Ph.D., is a Certified Speaking Professional and is also a member of the CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame and studied the Great Depression of the 1930's, the Holocaust of World War II, and the day-to-day difficulties we all experience at some point in life.
He learned that those who make it through the tough times may not be following the latest business fad. They may not be adhering to some complex set of psychological theories. And they may not have the fanciest degrees BUT those who make it through the tough times are using Seven key strategies that help them survive ... and even thrive ... in the midst of their challenges. And these seven strategies apply to every aspect of your work life as well as your personal life.
Alan will bring you those 7 key strategies ... in a quick, easy, and inexpensive way ... because this is not the time to learn through trial and error. This is not the time for you to learn the hard way. This is a time you have to know what works and doesn't work when times are tough.
I want you to know those 7 strategies, and I want you to see some results NOW. Alan shares all seven of these strategies with you in this one-hour webinar and he'll give you another 18 practices you can implement now ... so you'll soon realize that "Tough Times Never Last but Tough Salespeople Do."
In this 60-minute webinar, you'll learn:
* How to let go of the stress that accompanies any tough time
* How to guard your attitude from demoralizing negativity
* How to get and keep your financial situation in order
* How to keep going when you feel like quitting
* How to overcome setbacks and failures
* How to fortify your spiritual reserves and How to live above your circumstances instead of beneath them
Now that's good news. But the even better news is the price: Just $59 for strategies than can change your life by helping you take control and battle through your challenges. To make it even easier to show results from these strategies you'll get a handout to follow along with as Alan reveals all the strategies and practices for getting through the tough times. That way you don't have to worry about remembering all the points he will make.
FREE BONUSES:
And if you're serious about "getting it all," you know you need to read or hear the same message over and over again ... until it really sinks in. So Alan will give you the word-for-word transcript and you will get the video and audio recording of the webinar to make sure you truly apply all the good stuff you're going to learn.
FREE EBOOK:
You will also get Volume 1 of Alan's "Encyclopedia of Success." It's a 92-page eBook filled with motivating quotes and inspirational posters that you can read, print, and even hang around your office and THE BEST PART? Fundamentals-Create Success!

As a proud IBO with www.2yoursuccess24.com I am always searching for a unique angle to present in the email newsletters sent to those in our group and this weekend I was thinking about my Out-of-Office passion called Golf and the similarities with Network Marketing in regards to fundamentals that both require to be able to be a "player."
I have managed through many hours of hard work to attain a golfing handicap with a very low single digit listing and in that challenging sport there are what I refer to as the "GAPR" basics which is short for:
* GRIP
* ALIGNMENT
* POSTURE
* RHYTHM
And for Networkers I formulated their very own "GAPR" Book of Fundamentals for Success which is based around:
* G for GOALS: Set realistic goals as it will help you stayed focus
* A for ATTENTION: Which means paying attention to the feedback from prospects instead of "pretending to listen" while rushing them over to an Overview Call or Video
* P for PERSISTENCY: Let's talk reality as bringing in a new IBO requires follow-up work and selling them on why Your Opportunity - and in particular working with yourself - will be a wonderful career decision
* R for RESPECT: Treat others with respect on all calls as they may not commit now but if you have their permission to follow-up with an update call or email in a few months you may hear NO being replaced by HECK YES !!!

Quiters- NEVER WIN!

In the industry we have chosen called Network Marketing EVERYONE will have our Good Times and our Bad Times as that is reality and the bad times is when one gets to see the internal makeup of the individual .... which leads to my column which will simply ask folks to figure out who the following individual is:

* I was called the Greatest Ever in my sport by many experts

* I was at a Greatness Level where I was known by most simply for the initials of my name

* I won the Highest Individuals accomplishments possible both at the College and Professional levels

* One of the greats in my sport referred to me as "God disguised as _________"

* Many in the media considered me the Greatest Athlete of the 20th Century

* My jersey number was retired by two franchises in the sport that bought me fame

The answer is Michael Jordan and the same Michael Jordan who was CUT FROM HIS 10TH GRADE SQUAD .... think about that next time you start getting down on yourself for having a slow week or month with your business as we all have setbacks in life and there is a simple thought I will leave you with:

WINNERS NEVER QUIT ..... AND QUITTERS NEVER WIN

The New Masters Champion- Inspiration for Network Marketers!

Jim Nantz of CBS Sports will tell one and all that the Masters Golf Tournament played every April from Augusta National is a "tradition unlike any other" and in so many ways their latest Champion named Bubba Watson is a human being unlike any other and a golfer who would qualify as a "breath of fresh air" and a man who has a lot of qualities that everyone of my fellow Network Marketers should strive to attain.

What would make Bubba a great Network Marketer?

1) CREATIVITY:  The man standing over a golf shot in many ways is an Artist with his ability to create a path to success such as the historic shot from the woods he hit on the first Playoff Hole Sunday which required the golf ball to be hooked 40 yards from the Pine Straw into one of the toughest greens in the sports

2) COURAGE:  Bubba showed that Champions have that Internal "suck it up" makeup when it is needed under Pressure and his performance on the final nine holes defined that word with a CAPITAL C

3) HONESTY:  If there is one man in the sport of golf who fires from the heart with his answers to the Media it would be this 33 year old Left Hander who proves an honest answer is the best answer in life

4) SENSE OF HUMOR:  If you take life too serious you won't have a life and Bubba has that "good ol Southern boy" humor that makes everyone feel comfortable around this man who has millions in his bank account but one would never know it by his laid back style that makes everyone laugh

5) GROUNDED:  Do you take your Network Marketing Venture too serious?  In other words does it consume your every waking moment?  Bubba plays at the highest level of Competition in his sport but if you watched his comments to the media Sunday night you saw a man tearing up when talking about his young son him and his wife just adopted ... and this is right after the man just won one of the highest honors in his sport

Lesson of the Day:  Work Hard in 2012 to be a Champion like Bubba Watson with success built around some of the qualities he displays as you will look back with satisfaction knowing you created success with the approach that is worthy of the Green Jacket they give to Masters Champions

Todays Lesson for Fellow IBO's

I have believed my entire adult life that if you are going to undertake an adventure do so with a major focus on creating the tools and support needed to create Success at the highest level .... and Success is indeed why EVERY individual who spends their hard earned money with a home based Opportunity should register to receive the weekly email newsletter from Art Sobczak whose information is presented in a format that is easy to understand tied into wisdom from one of the Top Phone Sales Trainers in his industry.

The latest from www.businessbyphone.com:

Greetings!

My TV-watching usually is limited to the Food Network, and the food shows on the Travel Channel. One reality show I particularly enjoy is "Chopped." Four chefs start out with a mystery basket of several ingredients, which they must incorporate into an appetizer, and they have 20 minutes to prepare it. Then they present their dish to a panel of judges, who then proceed to "chop" (eliminate) one contestant. This is repeated with an entrée and dessert, until there is one final champion.

What's interesting is how some of the chefs react to being chopped. They are always interviewed afterwards. Although most handle it well, and are professional, I've seen some reduced to tears, using such words as "embarrassed" and "humiliated" to describe their feelings.

Clearly they felt personally rejected and insulted.

The way some of those chefs react to being chopped is similar to how some sales reps react to and handle resistance on the phone as I've covered this many times but it bears repeating.  Here are ways to purge rejection from your life:

- Keep in mind that no one can reject you without your consent as rejection isn't an experience but the way you define the experience

- If you did everything you could have on the call what do you have to feel bad about?

- If there was something you could have done differently at least you learned something from the call

Again success lies in how one reacts to negatives or failures ... we can't get rid of failures but we can refuse to label them as personal rejections.  As Erma Bombeck said, "Tell yourself that you're not a failure but more you just failed at doing something.  There's a big difference."
